💡 Privacy Tip

Use a personal wallet, not an exchange wallet, for privacy. Exodus wallet is a great option here. You can send from your exchange wallet to store it on Exodus to better protect your privacy. When setting up an Exodus wallet, be sure to make a backup of your "seed phrase" but NEVER share that with ANYONE for ANY purpose. That would allow them to access your funds.

💸 Step 2: Send BTC to Vendor

  1. Get the vendor's BTC address and confirm amounts.
  2. Paste the address into your wallet's "send" screen.
  3. Enter amount that you want to send.
  4. Double-check the address. Many people will verify the first and last 6 characters of the address to ensure there's no typos. A determined attacker could technically create an address that is similar though, so always confirm before sending.
  5. Send.

🔍 Step 3: Verify the Transaction

  • Copy the TXID from your wallet.
  • Paste it at blockchair.com/bitcoin or similar.
  • Confirm status is "confirmed". Many providers will want at least 3 confirmations before its considered confirmed.

🛑 Tips to Avoid Scams

  • Always double check your addresses. Crypto transactions are irreversible.
  • Never send funds to unverified vendors.
  • Use trusted vendor review threads on Reddit or forums.

⚠️ Security Warning

Always verify vendor addresses and use trusted sources. Never share your private keys, "seed" phrase, or "recovery" phrases with anyone.
